How
far can you ship the clay?
A: Since Narvon clay can be shipped bulk or bagged, shipping
distance is only limited by freight costs and availability of
transportation. Narvon clay is currently sold to
customers in Quebec and Ontario, Canada, as far west as
Montana, and south to Georgia.
What
else can the clay be used for?
A: One of the interesting things about this product is that
we're constantly learning the many different uses for the clay
based on talking to our customers. The clay is used as a
filler material, a water filtration agent, flux and several
other uses in several different industries. If you have
a particular use in mind, let us know and we'll be glad to talk
with you about it and send you specifications on our products.
Does
the clay have any health hazards for my company's employees?
A: The Narvon clay is a naturally-occurring mineral and is
not chemically altered in any way. When the clay is
removed from the ground, it is dried, milled, and screened
prior to packaging. Because it's removed from the earth,
it does contain silica. Silica is the most abundant
mineral in the earth's surface.
Company's are urged to take
precautions for silica exposure due to a typical crystalline
silica content ranging from 30-44%. Dust from the clay
should be controlled at all times and employees should be
careful to avoid creating dust when using this product.
If employees are using the product in a confined area, then
extra precautions should probably be taken to minimize
exposure to the product dust as much as possible. The
clay also contains aluminum oxide, small percentages of
potassium oxide and iron oxide, and other natural ingredients
in trace amounts.
